Accessibility

Our goals

The Crafting Circle strives to create an environment where crafters of all abilities can participate. See our most recent ADA plan to learn how we are working to offer more accessible programming.

If you have any accessiblity requests or concerns, please reach out to Julie at jccraftingcircle@gmail.com or use the contact form. We will do our best to accommodate your needs.

You can access the current grievance procedure here.

The facilities

SMUSH GALLERY

All circles and many workshops are held at SMUSH gallery, which has a temporary ramp for wheelchair access. There’s also a wheelchair-accessible bathroom equipped with grab bars and a lightweight door with closed fist hardware.

The gallery has a high-contrast bathroom sign and exit sign featuring graphics and braille for visitors with low vision.

Check out SMUSH’s ADA plan for a complete description of the facilities.

Creative Arts Center

We also host workshops at the Creative Arts Center, a branch of Jersey City’s Free Public Library. The library has a wheelchair ramp around the corner from its main entrance (located at Jersey Ave and 10th street). The space does not have wheelchair-accessible restrooms.

We want to do right by folks and are open to feedback.
